How to choose a welding table?

Advantages of welding tables

Assembly-welding table is the main tool of the welder, allowing it to produce 30% to 3 times more of the output per unit of time. It is no secret that, in most cases, welders only boil about 15% of their working time, the rest of the time you have to collect products. Imagine that one welder will work for two. How long would such a 3-10 thousand euro investment for the installation of a workplace would pay off in such a way?

Working with a quality welding table will not only speed up your work, but also achieve a higher quality of products. The smoothness of the table plane and the mounting angular edge planes shall be in accordance with the iso 2768 T2 "H" accuracy class. For convenient operation, the table surface is marked with a 100x100mm grid.

Special table surfaces for different metals

The most popular and most recognized surface of the table is the uneasy grey cast iron GG (in the people's sting). This surface is very sturdy and protected from welding splashadhesion. The table with gray cast iron coating is designed for working with carbon steel and aluminium. Welding tables retain their value over time, they can be called reliable and many times a pay-off investment.

Gg table benefits:

  • High graphite content prevents splashes from sticking to the surface of the table, even especially large splashes are easily removed;
  • High surface porosity together with antispoter provides a medium-term protection against splashes;
  • Low thermal spread coefficient;
  • Good cast iron sound insulation reduces the overall level of production noise and ensures a comfortable working environment.

30mm plates of grey iron and aluminium-copper alloy and anodized aluminium profiles

For use with stainless steel, a special surface of aluminum-copper alloy is offered. Specially selected metals without ferrite allow to work safely with stainless steel without fear of contact with materials that can damage the surface and cause corrosion.

Al/Cu table benefits:

  • Non-feritic surface, perfectly protecting the product during welding;
  • Due to the mechanical properties of the table surface, scratches and other damage do not practically appear on the poured steel;
  • High thermal conductivity reduces the overall deformations of the product and prevents the surface from sticking to the spray.

Modular FORSTER table mobility

The surface of the forster welding tables is made up of standard four-size profiles. The possible length of profiles is 800, 1000, 1200 and 1500mm. The modular system of the beams (panels) allows to confiscate the surface of the table according to the current needs. Increase the table area will be closed for only a few minutes - it is possible to do this by moving the beams, using additional support legs or connecting the tables with each other. When purchasing a standard table 3000x1500mm you will always have the opportunity to increase it even to 6100x4600mm.

The most common tables are purchased for the following dimensions: 3000x1500mm ; 2400x1200mm, 2000x1000 and 1800x1200mm. Less often customers prefer 3000x1200 or 1000x1200mm tables.

Extension of welding table using additional support legs

For special tasks we offer special swivel tables for the manufacture of partitions, handrails and frames. For the manufacture of large and heavy constructions we offer tables on the rails. In the assortment we have lift tables, positioners, rotators and other equipment to ensure quality welding and cutting.
